Camotes Island Tourist Spot – Camotes Island is a small, peaceful island located in the Visayas region of the Philippines. It is an unspoiled paradise that boasts crystal clear waters, pristine beaches, and lush tropical foliage.

Camotes Island is one of the hidden gems of the Philippines, and it is an excellent destination for tourists who want to experience the natural beauty and serenity of the country.

4 The Best Camotes Island Tourist Spot

1. Camotes Island Caves

Camotes Island in Cebu is known for its abundance of caves, with a minimum of eight known caves and potentially more waiting to be uncovered. These caves are among the top tourist attractions on the island, and we were fortunate enough to visit five of them.

While Bukilat Cave is the most renowned and largest of the caves due to its immense size and natural water feature, the other caves are also noteworthy and provide excellent swimming experiences.

Our personal preference is Amazing Island Cave, a deep cavity of vivid blue water that offers an ideal location to practice freediving. To explore all of the caves on Camotes Island, refer to our comprehensive guide on the top five Camotes Island caves.

2. Santiago White Beach

Camotes Island boasts a magnificent coastline featuring numerous breathtaking beaches, with Santiago White Beach being the most popular. This remarkable bay extends for hundreds of meters and transforms into the ultimate spot to take a dip in the crystal clear, shallow waters during high tide.

If you prefer to stay active while at the beach, you can partake in a beach volleyball game or rent a kayak from the beach vendors. And, if you decide to stay till sundown, you can savor some freshly grilled seafood while enjoying the stunning golden hues of the sunset, and maybe even sing your heart out with karaoke.

To maximize your experience at Santiago White Beach, we suggest booking a stay for a night or two at Santiago Bay Garden & Resort. This premium resort not only offers top-notch accommodations on Camotes Island but also provides an unbeatable view of Santiago White Beach.

3. Camotes Island Tourist Spot – Bakhaw Beach

For those seeking a more peaceful and tranquil beach experience, Bakhaw Beach may be more to your liking. Although it is often overlooked as a Camotes Island tourist spot, Bakhaw Beach remains our preferred beach on the island.

A mostly undeveloped coastline of coconut trees stretches along the expanse of fine white sand and turquoise waters. Since there are no amenities at Bakhaw Beach, it’s advisable to pack a picnic lunch and bring sufficient water.

The road leading to the beach is not adequately developed, so if you’re driving a car, you’ll need to park it at a nearby residence and walk the rest of the way, which we believe crosses private property.

As it’s a serene location, you’re unlikely to encounter many other tourists, but be prepared to share this paradise with the locals.

4. Tulang Diot Island

Tulang Diot Island, a small island, is one of the most impressive Camotes Island tourist spots due to its striking white sandy beach and crystal-clear blue waters.

It is separated from Pacijan Island by a narrow waterway, and visitors need to rent a boat to access Tulang Diot Island. The travel time from Tulang Dako Beach on the mainland to Tulang Diot Beach on the islet is only 5 to 10 minutes.

The island has minimal facilities, but that only adds to its appeal. There’s a small community on Tulang Diot Island, but apart from that, there’s very little on the island.

Once you arrive, you can pick a spot on the beach and relish the immaculate conditions for snorkeling and lounging on the beach. If you intend to spend the whole day there, there isn’t much food available, so be sure to bring your own lunch or grab some snacks from a sari-sari store on the island.

Camotes Island is a hidden paradise that offers visitors a chance to experience the natural beauty and serenity of the Philippines. From crystal clear waters to stunning coral reefs, Camotes Island has something for everyone. So, if you are planning a trip to the Philippines, be sure to add Camotes Island to your list of destinations.
